Senior Accountant Poland
Job overview: As a Senior Accountant, you play a crucial role within the Finance Shared Service Centre team during a period of rapid growth. You ensure accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting and provide accounting support to various parts of the organization in Poland and across the wider AniCura Group.
· Your key responsibilities will include
· Own day-to-day accounting activities for clinic operations in Poland
· Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
· Prepare, review, and post journal entries in Oracle and group reporting systems (including inventory and bad debt)
· Perform sales reconciliations, VAT settlements, and balance sheet reconciliations (BlackLine)
· Partner closely with Controlling on financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts
· Act as a trusted accounting advisor to clinic managers in Poland
· Coordinate with external AP service providers and verify delivered services
· Support statutory financial statements and tax reporting together with external advisors
· Serve as the main point of contact for auditors, local authorities, and Group Finance stakeholders
· Ensure compliance with AniCura Group accounting standards and support implementation of new policies
· Monitor local accounting and regulatory developments in cooperation with advisors and SSC leadership
· Lead, coach, and support junior accountants
· Contribute to ad-hoc tasks and continuous improvement initiatives
Position requirements
· Academic degree in Accounting, Finance or a similar field
· 5+ years of experience in accounting/finance within large, matrix organizations, Shared Service Centers and/or audit firms
· Proven experience in leading GL accounting processes, month/year-end closings, and working with Oracle ERP
· Fluent in English and German, able to work under time pressure, with advanced MS Office / Excel skills
· Experience in coordinating Junior Accountants is considered a plus
· Experience working within Oracle ERP is a must
· Advanced MS Office/Excel abilities
