SSC Head - Regional Accounting Manager
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic SSC Head - Regional Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting and reporting functions for the AniCura CEE region legal entities. This role involves leading a dedicated internal team as well as collaborating with external accounting offices. You will ensure accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting and provide accounting support across various business functions.
This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to manage a local team while effectively coordinating with external accounting providers.

Your key responsibilities will include
People management
Manage and further develop the CEE Accounting team
Lead effective cooperation with external accounting providers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia
Reporting and internal controls
Manage period-end closing activities for the CEE region
Lead and oversee periodic balance sheet reconciliations (BlackLine) for the CEE region
Review profit and loss accounts in cooperation with Business Controllers
Work closely with the MVHE Group Accounting team throughout the reporting process
Support the CEE Controlling team in business results follow-up and explanations
Hold overall responsibility (in cooperation with external advisors, auditors, and local CFOs) for statutory financial reporting in the CEE region
Act as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders (e.g. accounting providers, auditors, tax authorities, statistical offices)
Ensure the performance and documentation of internal control activities for the CEE region, in cooperation with the MVHE Group Control Department
Other responsibilities
Handle day-to-day and ad-hoc accounting tasks within the Finance/Accounting department
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and other projects, including those driven by the AniCura Group
Provide back-up support for daily accounting activities such as AP, AR, balance sheet reconciliations, cash management, and period-end closing
You are expected to have
An academic degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance within large, matrix organizations, Shared Service Centers, and/or audit firms
Strong general ledger accounting expertise, including leadership of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Fluency in English (Polish is required as stated above) and the ability to work effectively under time pressure and deadlines
Solid experience with financial systems and tools, including Oracle ERP (mandatory), and advanced MS Excel skills
Experience in coordinating or supporting junior accountants is a plus
