Role Overview:
The Head of Accounting CEE plays a critical leadership role within MVH Europe Finance Operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting across the Central and Eastern Europe region.
This role provides hands-on leadership to the accounting team while overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, statutory reporting, and compliance with both US GAAP and local GAAP requirements. The role holder will work closely with MVHE Group Accounting and Financial Operations teams and actively contribute to finance transformation initiatives in collaboration with Regional, Global, and Corporate Accounting & Reporting teams.
Reporting to the Director, Record-to-Report (R2R) Operations, this role is based in Warsaw, with a 50% hybrid working model and occasional travel across EU locations for leadership collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Key Responsibilities:
As part of the MVHE Finance Operations leadership team, the Head of Accounting CEE will collaborate extensively with market operations, finance teams, clinics, auditors, and external advisors. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage complexity in a fast-growing, multi-entity environment.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 10 accounting professionals and contractors.
Design, implement, and continuously improve critical accounting and reporting processes in a dynamic and scaling environment.
Ensure accurate and timely periodic financial reporting to Mars Group (US GAAP) and delivery of statutory annual financial statements (local GAAP).
Prepare and present balance sheet movements and analyses to management.
Act as the primary point of contact for authorities, banks, internal and external auditors, and tax advisors.
Oversee general ledger integrity, provisions, and key accounting judgments.
Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal reporting requirements across business transactions.
Partner closely with market operations, business controllers, clinics, and MVHE finance teams to ensure effective financial processes and stakeholder experience.
Initiate and lead finance transformation and continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, controls, and service quality.

Languages: Fluent English required; Polish highly preferred.
Education & Professional Qualifications:
University degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA, or CPA is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 10+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, including at least 5 years in people management roles.
Proven experience in structuring, optimizing, and scaling accounting processes.
Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
Experience with Oracle, Blackline, and/or OneStream is an advantage.
Fluency in English; Polish language skills are highly desirable.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
Structured, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a complex environment.
Strong advantages include:
